"Nosce te ipsum" means to "To Know Thyself". The aphorism "Know Thyself" was carved on the front of the Temple of Apollo in Pronaos by the Greeks. As a reminder for them to discover their own divine selves, Christians have been taught, instructed, motivated and encouraged to know themselves in a spiritual manner. Though it is often difficult, to know yourself it is an important part of life. To “know thyself” means to find inner peace and purpose; to see oneself as they truly are, through a non-judgmental eye. This self-awareness serves as a reminder of one’s potential for true enlightenment and provides inspiration for life’s journey. To know thyself is to know God.
